They will not be able to twist the destiny of Venezuela

Sergio Rodríguez Gelfenstein

The European Union has stopped recognizing Guaidó, the Dominican Republic and Panama have done the same. Already only about 25 countries support the charade. They are waiting for the United States to give the signal for the light to go off definitively in the den of those who, violating the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and international law, will invent a subterfuge to appropriate resources and goods that belong to all Venezuelans.

This plot concocted in Washington by criminal minds that no one remembers anymore, had a short-lived real existence in Venezuela, while abroad it remained until today, thanks to Trump's threats to countries led by weak and cowardly governments that allowed themselves to blackmailed by the former president of the United States and his minions.

These countries, believing that the military power of the United States and the ability of the transnational media to fabricate false news was enough to overthrow the government of Venezuela, embarked on a policy that, in the most impudent and shameless way, the former foreign minister of Spain and current High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel called “innovation of international law”, when in reality it was related to the violation of the most elementary legal norms that regulate relations between States.

They started from the assumption that the people of Venezuela would be unable to resist the theft of their financial resources and assets, unilateral economic pressure measures, terrorist acts, land and sea invasions from Colombia, sabotage against public services. , the blockade of the oil trade, the impossibility of carrying out financial operations abroad, the kidnapping and murder of nationals and many other destabilization operations, some open and others reserved that cannot yet be disclosed to protect the sources. They were absolutely wrong.

Bolívar in his achievements taught us the path of perseverance, will and trust in the people. He overcame the loss of the first and second republics, the earthquake of 1812, defeat, exile, helplessness, the absence of foreign aid, betrayal, assassination attempts and even the inability of many leaders to understand his thinking. strategic. Not by chance, in a letter to Santander in 1825, he called himself the "man of difficulties." In the end he defeated the most powerful army that Spain sent to America, liberating and creating five nations.

In the same way, Commander Hugo Chávez forever planted in the Venezuelan people the value of loyalty and firmness, the ability to overcome setbacks, he was defeated on February 4, he went to jail for it, but he returned to build an impressive electoral force that allowed him to give continuity to the ideal of the Liberator and to restart the process of transformation of Venezuela.

We are children of Bolívar and Chávez, they do not know our mettle and love for the country. 200 years ago, the people and the united army gave Carabobo a resounding and definitive defeat to Spanish colonialism. It will not be a remote-controlled puppet from Washington and 56 submissive countries that can twist the destiny of our country.

We are not warmongers, our army has left the national territory only once in all of republican history. It was from 1819 to - under the command of Bolívar and Sucre - give independence and freedom to other sister nations. But we are warriors when it comes to defending our territory and our sovereignty. In the meantime, we have built the country and we have related to others, upholding principles of peace that Chávez transformed into a State doctrine

The Venezuelan people will not forget this affront of countries that even today lukewarmly retake the path of the right as they are unable to solve the illegal mess in which they got themselves and make an international ridicule after having led their own peoples to shame and ignominy. , following the perverse designs emanating from the feverish mind of Trump, whom they now publicly despise, when for four years they abided by it with indecent lingo and doggy loyalty

Venezuela will continue its route, we know perfectly well that governments are one thing and the people is another, from whom we received extraordinary displays of solidarity and affection, about when they began to verify that they were the object of foul deception and brutal chimera.

Loyal to our Bolivarian peace diplomacy that adheres to the precepts bequeathed to us by the Liberator, we will continue the route outlined with the infinite patience that gives the conviction of walking the right path and the desperate impatience at not being able to do it better and faster. .

These 57 countries, those that have repented and those that are still tied to the Washington mandate, should know that our confidence in the future is based on the legacy of diplomacy that the Liberator left us: high-mindedness and firmness of principle without to fall into the base passions that rudeness, offense and disrespect to the Venezuelan people suppose the military and economic power of those who assume themselves as our enemies.

In a letter dated October 7, 1818, addressed to the American diplomat Juan Bautista Irvine, the Liberator refutes him with patriotic and republican solidity and informs him of our decision to fight until death or victory. Said the Liberator:

I would like to end this note by ignoring the penultimate paragraph of VS's statement because, being extremely shocking and insulting to the Government of Venezuela, it would be necessary to answer it using the same language as VS, so contrary to the modesty and decorum with which I have conducted the question. The persistent determination and heat of VS in sustaining what is not defensible [sic] except by attacking our rights, makes me extend my view beyond the object to which our conference encircled it. It seems that VS's intent is to force me to reciprocate the insults: I won't; but I do protest to VS that I will not allow the Government and the rights of Venezuela to be insulted or despised. Defending them against Spain, a large part of our population has disappeared and the rest that remains eager to deserve the same fate. It is the same for Venezuela to fight against Spain as against the whole world, if the whole world offends it ”.
